Huestis Tucker Architects is a full-service architecture and interior design firm that specializes in custom residential, commercial, and corporate projects of all sizes. Founded in 1998 by husband and wife team Jennifer Huestis and Bob Tucker, we work closely with our clients to design spaces and buildings that express their sensibilities and and embody their dreams. At HTA we believe that good design makes life better. That’s why we are committed to helping our clients realize projects of timeless beauty and state-of-the-art functionality. Whether we are renovating a residential kitchen or designing a corporate office, we approach every project with an eye towards aesthetics, attention to detail, deep knowledge of the building process, and a passion for sustainable materials, construction methods, and technologies.
Jennifer Huestis, AIA
An architect, interior designer, and co-principal of Huestis Tucker Architects Jennifer is passionate about the rich details that make traditional design timeless. She has been designing new homes, interiors, and renovations for clients in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York for over 30 years. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and the Yale University School of Architecture, she founded HTA with her husband, Robert Tucker, in 1998 after working for several other firms including Greenhill Jenner Partners in London, and Robert Orr and Associates in New Haven, Connecticut. Together they design functional and elegant homes for clients who demand beautiful design and quality that lasts.
Robert Tucker, AIA
Guided by a belief that good design can make life better, Bob takes pride in adapting older buildings to meet new needs and taking advantage of the latest advances in sustainable design. An architect registered in Connecticut, Texas, and Utah, he is co-principal of Huestis Tucker Architects and has been designing homes and commercial projects for more than 30 years. After graduating from Hamilton College and the Yale University School of Architecture, Bob worked for several architecture firms including Grimshaw Architects in London, Robert Orr and Associates, Mark Finlay Associates and the Mitchell Studio in Connecticut before joining his wife Jennifer to found their practice in 1998.
Jeffrey Boyd, RA
A registered architect with a background in landscape design and experience with higher education projects, Jeff joined HTA in 2016. Previously, he worked for several other New Haven–area firms, including Svigals and Partners, Christopher Williams Architect, and Devore Associates—a prominent landscape architecture practice in Fairfield. With his unique background, Jeff has made it possible for us to handle many landscape, grading, and site related projects in-house and expand our higher education and commercial practice. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University and has been a registered architect in Connecticut since 1994.
Crystal Chandler, AIA
A LEED Green Associate with extensive experience working on historic commercial projects as well as private homes, Crystal came to HTA in 2018 after 17 years working for Sean O’Kane Architects in Ridgefield, Connecticut. At HTA, she brings her eye for detail and her organizational skills to every project and enjoys being part of the design process from beginning to end. Always up-to-date on the latest developments in building technology and construction materials, Crystal graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a registered architect in both Connecticut and New York.

Alex Makarevich
