This lakeside retreat is the rebirth of a dark little cabin that was in desperate need of attention.
A notable feature is the use of knotty pine throughout the interior- there isn't a single piece of sheetrock in the house. The railings at the second floor balcony were made in Colorado from peeled pine logs and hammered iron. The cabinetry throughout was custom built from knotty pine.
Bathroom vanities are also custom built from knotty pine, with the exception of the one in the basement, which is accessed from the outside. In this bathroom the vanity was built of the same stone used in the masonry walls outside, which makes for a very unique and very solid vanity.
The lake side of the house is wrapped with a deck made of Ipe,with cedar rails and copper capped posts.
Landscaping is extensive with unusual patios made of huge stone slabs fitted together like puzzles. One of them surrounds a firepit looking over the lake, reminiscent of summer camp. The other is nestled into the space below the deck, creating an alternate sitting area. There is also a cooking fireplace by the dock, backed by a slab of granite.
